Dear Sir/Madam,
With due respect it is stated that I am writing this letter to request for a major change. I am currently enrolled in your university under the major (mention your major), and under the roll number (mention your roll number). I have performed amazingly in my college as my transcript shows. This email is going to be a bit long so please bear with me. I was doing pretty well in first two semesters with a CGPA of 3.3 (mention yours) but then suddenly, a lot happened in my life due to which, it began to decrease steadily.
I was hit by probation in my 3rd semester but I somehow managed to get out of it. The main reason behind the steep decrease in my CGPA was family, and health issues. I was diagnosed with clinical depression. I was on medication, and more than that I was on medication which contained a lot of sleep, and muscle relaxants. I used to be laying sleepy in my bed the whole time. My sleep cycle along with my studies was all messed up. I went into depression due to some personal family issues that I can not mention.
Now, when I have recovered by a percentage of 60-70%, I do not want to do Maths major. It requires a lot of practice, and constant mind jamming questions that I yet, do not have the energy to do. More over, I have found economics more interesting, and I enjoy doing it. I enjoy reading about it. It is like my escape from everything. With time, I also realized maybe this is what i wanted to do always. I am very determined to improve my grades, and as well do my best.
Therefore, it is requested to please allow my major change from Maths to economics. I am looking forward towards your cooperation. I will be very grateful to you.
