First statement is incorrect because “Southern Birdwing” is a large and striking Swallowtail butterfly with length of almost 190mm. It is endemic to southern or peninsular India. Second and third statements are correct. Southern Birdwing Butterfly has been officially designated as the state butterfly of Karnataka. Karnataka is the second state to adopt a state butterfly. Prior to this, Maharashtra declared Blue Mormon as the state butterfly. Southern Birdwing has distinctive red and yellow colours those resembles Karnataka’s colours. Southern birdwing is the largest butterfly in India and endemic to south India, particularly Karnataka.
